Sitecore Developer 9 months + Chicago, IL 60637 60-62hr C2C Candidates will need to be on-site post Covid-19 Job Title Sitecore Web Developer As our Sitecore developer, create and extend Sitecore modules and templates, developing on our Sitecore Experience Platform cloud implementation. Leverage existing and create new Sitecore modules that integrate into the overall Sitecore architecture, to build usable, accessible, standards-compliant, high-performance Sitecore modules and components. Working with HTML, CSS, and JS frameworks, as well as back-end .NET, develop and maintain sites across our range of CMS platforms. Engage collaboratively with external Sitecore partners to ensure our new development leverages our existing Sitecore information architecture, templates and other components. Partner in our web design process, interacting with clients and working with our team UXUI designers and web developers. Help identify design requirements, engage on design implementation issues, and develop designs as communicated on page mock-ups, wire-frames and other representations, as well as responding to guidance throughout projects. Sitecore Web Developer Build relationships with clients and partners, and share andor assume responsibility for departmental service offerings. Work independently and strategically toward project and team goals and deliverables, requiring only minor direction and guidance. Collaborate successfully with peer design entities on a range of projects and tasks, such as university branding for Sitecore templates and components, and other supported CMS platforms. Education Preferred Bachelorrsquos degree Experience Required Minimum of three years of professional web development experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) Experience implementing content managed sites using Sitecore Work samples, preferably in an online portfolio Preferred Experience developing graphical user interfaces for websites, with examples Experience designing and coding web andor native apps for mobile environments Minimum of two years of client management experience Experience as a project or team lead Professional experience within a higher education environment Job Competencies Required Solid understanding of Sitecore architecture, modules and templates Solid understanding of standards-compliant, semantic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Expertise with web editors (e.g. BBEdit, Sublime, etc.), and graphics software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite) Solid understanding of web accessibility and usability, including cross-platform and browser issues Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills Excellent analytical skills Excellent organizational and time management skills the ability to prioritize multiple projects and independently follow through with detail Self-motivation and the ability to take initiative The ability to conceptualize a course of action, organize and execute its successful completion Preferred Wire-framing or rapid prototyping skills using tools such as Visio or Axure Responsibilities 60 Develop and maintain University web sites and applications, primarily on our Sitecore platform o Create accessible, standards-compliant HTML websites using CSS for formatting and positioning, unobtrusive JavaScript, and popular web tool APIs (e.g. Google Maps) o Format client-provided content and materials for use on their websites o Collaborate with programming staff to integrate dynamic code into sites o Implement content managed websites using Sitecore o Support and maintenance of CMS platforms including Sitecore and CampusPress. o Ensure that sites continue to meet evolving web standards o Support clients 20 Define and design University websites and web applications o Define and document requirements for content-managed websites (content types, channels, etc.) o With the project team, define goals, audiences, and metrics for success for websites and web applications o Collaborate with peer design entities on university branding templating for web platforms 20 Contribute to the evolution of web standards and procedures at the University o Maintain a high level knowledge of current web standards, technologies, and trends through training and research o Contribute to the establishment of Sitecore development and management best practices, and support team adoption.
